The COMPLETE TOM FORD S/S 2013 Womenswear Collection!

Yes my friends, I said the complete womenswear collection.

As you can see, the way this collection is being publicized is definitely different than prior years. Privacy? Secrecy? Who needs it!

I — for one — am loving the change.

The pieces in the collection are stunning.  Think bondage meets classic chic.  There are black patent zip pencil skirts, camel cashmere sweaters, fitted chiffon dresses with intricate rope detail, taupe skirts, beaded skirts, and those to-die-for multi-buckle bondage-y gladiator-boots, to name a few.

At the presentation earlier this month Ford said “you can wear something a little perverse if the rest of you is chaste.” This collection proves that. And I am quite certain that Christian Grey and Gideon Cross would purchase every single piece for their significant others.

Ever since Tom Ford’s return to womenswear in 2010 there has been an air of secrecy around his seasonal showings.  The runway shows that Ford became famous for during his time at GUCCI were replaced by private, intimate presentations.  No matter how anxious we were to see the latest designs, Ford kept us waiting—often for months—until he released the first images.

Until now.

On Sunday, September 16, Ford held a private showing in his London headquarters.  How is that different from prior years, you ask?  By all accounts, not only was this one was more relaxed—change was in the air.  The buzz around the presentation suggests that things will be different next season.  Whispers of a full runway show in London are becoming more prevalent.  Sure, there have been whispers before but these seem to carry some weight.  Most convincing?  Instead of waiting months, TOM FORD has already released some imagery from the Spring 2013 presentation.

The theme for spring is “chastity and perversity” and let me tell you… I. LOVE. IT.

Especially the gold bondage-y gladiator stiletto boots.  They speak directly to my 50 Shades of Grey loving heart!

I can’t remember the last time images from a luxury beauty brand ad campaign were released so… quietly.  

Truthfully, I am a bit perplexed by it.  The new ads definitely measure up to the Lara Stone and Mirte Maas campaigns. In fact, I think they surpass them in quality and the color palette is simply breathtaking.  The campaign should be featured in numerous media outlets by now but so far a single shot of Snejana Onopka is getting all the attention.

Lucky for us, we have the internet.

Even though the “official news” is yet to come, two new images have now been released. My favorite so far is this stunning shot of Snejana and Mr. Ford:

I admit, the composition of this shot makes me scratch my head a bit, but let’s think about this for a moment.  Would you know what to do with your arms if you were positioned that close to Tom Ford?  Enveloped in his arms?  In velvet?  Gah.  Someone would have to pick me and my arms up off the floor.

Wow.

Ok, where was I?

Oh yes.  We can’t neglect the shot below of Snejana and Daga Ziober which was first spotted on Saks Fifth Avenue.

I love the colors in this image.  Bold.  Beautiful.  And somehow dangerous.  Maybe it’s the Black Swan vibe that Snejana is giving off, but holy hotness!

I’m still trying to ID the products used in all of these (the Emerald Lust eye quad is fairly obvious and drop-dead gorgeous, no?), but I have to say that I am loving these images.

Do you remember the spectacular gown that Chanel Iman wore to the Met Gala earlier this year?  No?  Were you too busy staring at her scrumptious date—Mr. Tom Ford himself—like I was?  Yes, I just called Tom Ford “scrumptious.”  Can you blame me? That man is sex on a stick. Seriously. Scrumptious. I could eat him up.

Oh yes. The dress. If you can’t remember which dress it was, not to worry.

The gown—formally known as the “Chalk Lady Amhearst Pheasant feather moire tulle evening dress”—makes its reappearance in not one, not two, but three recent editorials, including two September issues.

I love the amount of feather detail that can be seen in the shot of Miley, but Guinevere wears the dress best in my book.
