I had to share this because I agree wholeheartedly with what Tom Ford had to say about personal style…
“Style is a personal thing. It is what defines you. It is not only about clothes (in fact, it is rarely about clothes) but is about the way that one handles oneself with other people. To treat people kindly, to look them in the eye, to shake their hand firmly and to try to always be proud of ones actions are key elements of style as far as I am concerned. With regards to clothes and dress I think that it is important to find out what you feel comfortable in [I am not talking about physical comfort here] and then to make that look your signature. Personal style, comes from consistency. Know yourself, know what you like and what you don’t like and then build a look around those likes and dislikes. Remain true to your own taste.”

Tom Ford has wisdom, style, class, creativity—the whole lot. I love that he gets that style isn’t just about clothing, about what you wear. Style is the embodiment of your clothing, fragrance, cosmetics (if you’re a woman), actions, words, and philosophy. I believe very strongly in that myself. It’s the whole package.
She’s not a typical person to refer to in terms of style, but who would Dolly Parton be without her breasts, makeup, Southern accent, and sass? She is who she is because of ALL of it.
I couldn´t agree more with him: To treat people kindly, to look them in the eye, to shake their hand firmly and to try to always be proud of ones actions are key elements of style as far as I am concerned.

It’s physically impossible for me to love this post any more than I already do. He just amplified what I try my best to make my own personal philosophy. Style is so much more than fashion – and I love that he included the importance of kindness, truer words were never spoken.
Way to make me love you more, Mr. Ford. Seriously, well done.
