Dutch beauty and sometime Tom Ford muse Daphne Groeneveld struck a dramatic pose wearing TOM FORD for the April 2013 issue of Numéro Russia #2 [Editor Note: remember her beautiful cover from the controversial Vogue Paris, December 2010/January 2011 Issue?].
Creative Director André Leon Talley, stylist Ethel Park and photographer Sebastian Kim highlighted the movement in the butterfly-like wings of the cady caftan dress from the TOM FORD Spring/Summer 2013 Womenswear collection. The editorial was so simple it allowed Daphne’s beauty and the gown to shine… just beautiful.

The last few weeks I have watched in fascination as the Eye and Cheek compact in Unabashed sold out entirely online (in the U.S.), was restocked, sold out again and has now been restocked (again) at certain etailers. It is undoubtedly the star of the summer release, followed closely by Fire Lust and then the Lip Shimmers.

If Unabashed is the star of the 2014 TOM FORD Beauty Summer Color Collection, the limited-edition Lip Shimmers are the supporting actors. Moonlight and Solar Gold aren’t trying to make a lot of noise. They are content being background players and lingering behind-the-scenes. They aren’t splashy and they won’t make a huge entrance but they do leave a mark.
The question is – how good of a mark is it?

The 2014 TOM FORD Beauty Summer Collection is small but mighty. There are only four items in this release, one of which is a re-promote from last year. Nevertheless, this limited-edition collection is flying off the bricks & mortar and e-tailer shelves, with one item in particular selling out repeatedly. For Summer 2014, Tom Ford has added a stunning eye and cheek compact to the collection that is “inspired by the look of natural, glowing skin, touched with a splash of vivid color.”
Unabashed ($95) is an all-in-one compact (the first of its kind from TOM FORD Beauty) that contains three eye shadows and two cheek colors. It is as bold as it is simple.
